FOSTER KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY 2011
On Sunday, 4th December, OIB sponsored the Foster Kids Christmas Party in association with NSW Human Services.  The party was held at Timbertown with 140 attendees.  In its 6th year, there were 182 presents donated by generous businesses and supporters, ensuring another successful and happy day.  As always, Santa was the star of the show, this year making his "grand entrance" by a horse drawn wagon.

RSPCA CUPCAKE DAY
Once again, OIB supported RSPCA Cupcake Day on Monday, 15 August 2011.  A couple of staff baked goods to sell to staff and the team raised even more funds this year.

JEANS FOR GENES DAY
On Friday, 5th August 2011, OIB staff shed their red, white and blue uniform in support of Jeans for Genes Day.   
Again, staff purchased J4G merchandise to raise money for the cause breaking last year's fundraising record.
We thank our staff for their participation and support.

MOVEMBER
Each November, OIB staff joined together as a team to raise money and awareness for Mens Health Issues.  The MOib Team are generously supported with donations made to them by family, friends, colleagues and local business associates.

RELAY FOR LIFE 2011
On Saturday 2nd April, OIB once again sponsored and entered a team in the Hastings Relay for Life.  The Oxley Insurance All Stars set up camp at Stuart Park and walked in an effort to raise funds and get behind this charity event.  The team took turns in lapping the oval and shared a BBQ on Saturday night with family and fellow supporters.

HASTINGS EDUCATION FUND
OIB are pleased to be a sponsor of the Hastings Education Fund.  Their assistance greatly benefits promising local young students, who were inhibited due to financial constraints, to achieve their educational dreams.

BUILDERS/TRADES COMPETITION
This year's winner of the $1,000 Travel Voucher was Garry Cordell from Coffs Harbour.
It has been a long while between holidays for Garry and his partner, and while a destination has yet to be decided, wherever they go they plan to do plenty of fishing.

WINNERS @ PORT MACQUARIE BUSINESS AWARDS 2011
Again, Oxley Insurance Brokers were nominated and voted finalists in the Legal, Financial & Insurance & Services (large) category of the Business Awards.
OIB were awarded as a category winner at the Gala Dinner held at Panthers, Port Macquarie on Friday, 2 September 2011.  OIB appreciates and thank their staff for their ongoing efforts that contribute to their success and also their clients and business associates for their continued support.  Congratulations to all nominatees, finalists and winners on recognition of their achievements.

FINALISTS @ THE MACLEAY ARGUS BUSINESS AWARDS 2011
Oxley Insurance Brokers were nominated and voted finalists in the Service/Professional category of the Macleay Argus Business Awards.
The best businesses in the Macleay Valley celebrated this prestigious event at the Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club on Saturday, 3 September 2011.
We congratulate our Manager, Paul Timmins and the Kempsey Team on this achievement, along with their fellow nominees, finalists and winners.

KOCHIE SHARES HIS KNOWLEDGE... May 2011
David Koch, one of Australia's most recognised television personalities, hit Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie to offer advice to over 300 business owners during his 90 minute presentation.
Interest rates, shares, property prices and the mining boom were just some of the topics covered which he followed with a Q&A session.

ITA TOLD US SO... August 2011
Ita Buttrose, businesswoman, journalist, author, motivational keynote speaker and twice voted Australia's most admired woman came to Port Macquarie to share her story.
Ita has not only made her mark in multi-media circles, she has also been heavily involved in many community and welfare organisations.  Her years of experience, wealth of knowledge and stories of Cleo and the Packers was of much interest to attendees.

ANNUAL OIB vs UNDERWRITERS CRICKET CHALLENGE 2011
On 24th March, we hosted our 28th Cricket Challenge at the picturesque Sancrox Reserve, followed by a relaxing boat cruise back to Rydges.  This year  was the biggest yet and the Underwriters were no competition for the OIB staff who walked away with the trophy (following last year's loss).
The Cricket Challenge is a great opportunity for us to showcase what Port Macquarie has to offer to our visitors who travelled from Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and beyond to be a part of this much anticipated event.

OIB SQUASH TEAM WINS THE PLATE
In 3rd position at the end of the 22 round competition, Team OIB then progressed through to the Grand Final.  They suffered a narrow loss to the Woodbridge Glass Team who finished minor premiers in the competition.  Overall, Team OIB came 2nd place, an excellent result considering players were unable to compete due to injury.
