Community

For some larger city businesses community involvement is something that has to be sought out and paraded as evidence of being a good corporate citizen. Not so with us here on the Mid North Coast.

For us community involvement is simply a natural extension of appreciating our good fortune, enjoying where we live and who we are as people – and we love it.

These are just some of our most recent sponsorships/recipients:

  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Cancer Council
  • The Starlight Foundation
  • CareFlight
  • RSPCA
  • KIDS Challenge Foundation
  • Sawtell Chilli Festival
  • Port Macquarie Golf Club Seaside Classic
  • St Peters P&F Golf Day
  • Wauchope Golf Club
  • OIB Basketball Team
  • OIB Squash Team
  • Port Macquarie Triathlon Club
  • Stuarts Point Womens Bowling Triples
  • Lake Cathie Bowling & Recreation Club Membership Drive
  • Wauchope Olympic Swimming Pool Business House Relays

If you have any questions about our community involvement call us on 1300 799 422.

IGA CAREFLIGHT GOLF DAY
Again this year, OIB supported the IGA Careflight Golf Day held at Wauchope Country Club on 14 February 2010.  Paul Timmins, our Kempsey Office Manager, commented that “it was great to be able to provide support to the IGA owners on the Macleay and the Hastings, especially when you know that all proceeds raised are given to the Careflight Service which provides help to people in dire need in our local communities".  Paul, was joined by OIB staff David Smith (Management Accountant), Graham O’Donnell (Life Insurance Adviser) and Allan Croft (Insurance Broker).

OIB "Mad Hatters"

BIGGEST MORNING "MAD HATTERS" TEA PARTY
On Thursday, 17th May 2010, OIB staff enjoyed getting together and wearing a hat to raise money for the Cancer Council.  We raised a grand total of $210 in donations, fines and the selling of baked goods.
The Starlight Foundation was also given a donation of $100 by OIB for the baked goods donated on the day.
A big thanks to all involved for their support and generosity.

OIB vs Underwriters Cricket Challenge 2010

ANNUAL OIB vs UNDERWRITERS CRICKET CHALLENGE 2010

On 18 March, we hosted our 27th Cricket Challenge at the picturesque Sancrox Reserve, followed by a relaxing boat cruise back to Rydges.  OIB staff were no competition for the 36 Insurers and after 4 consecutive years of wins, they went down to the Insurers who walked away with the trophy.

The Cricket Challenge is a great opportunity for us to showcase what Port Macquarie has to offer to our visitors who travelled from Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and beyond to be a part of this much anticipated event.
